Defense applications
Multispectral smoke-generating compositions (canisters and ammunition)
Most smoke-generating compounds that have been in use for decades are highly toxic and often dangerous to handle during their manufacture and use.
NanoPyro has developed a family of formulations that are less toxic and easier to produce.
These formulations can be used in:
Combustion modifiers for solid propellants
NanoPyro is researching various additives designed to improve the performance of propellants used in rocket and space rocket engines.
Objectives:
- combustion modifier,
- improvement in mechanical properties,
- maintaining characteristics as the product ages.

Secondary explosive with direct laser initiation

To improve the safety of detonator systems, NanoPyro is researching secondary explosives that do not require a primary charge to be activated.
The trigger mechanism relies on direct laser stimulation.
Energy-retaining coating for propellant powder

The performance of propellant powders for ammunition must remain consistent, even when the temperature fluctuates due to environmental conditions.
NanoPyro develops additives designed to compensate for these performance variations.
Priming composition
Building on its work in civilian applications, NanoPyro is developing formulations for the manufacture of ammunition primers that are free of lead and heavy metals.

Additives to improve the performance of secondary explosives
NanoPyro étudie des composés capables d’augmenter l’effet de souffle des explosifs secondaires couramment utilisés.
